In the position as the Director, Data Governance, you will be crucial in supporting and executing initiatives to increase and govern data quality to maximize Western Digital’s value.  This role involves working with other supply chain data stewards to develop and implement data quality and governance strategies and processes across the supply chain, ensuring they are prioritized to support business objectives and improve operational efficiencies.   The perfect candidate will possess a solid background in Data Quality and Analytics with demonstrated experience in stakeholder collaboration, establishing frameworks and execution of the strategy to drive data governance projects, results, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Quality Assurance:
   • Establishing data quality metrics and benchmarks.
   • Implementing data validation processes to identify and rectify discrepancies.
2. Data Governance:
   • Developing and enforcing data governance policies and standards.
   • Measuring adherence to policies, standards, and data quality standards.
3. Tool and Technology Management:
   • Evaluating, implementing, and supporting data quality and analytics tools (e.g., ETL tools, BI platforms).
   • Staying updated on emerging technologies and best practices in data management.
4. Reporting and Visualization:
   • Creating data quality scorecards, areas of focus, and reports to present data quality insights to stakeholders.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

This is a 6 months internship in the APAC Customer Experience and Commercial Excellence team. You will support various aspects of business reporting, analysis and insights Additionally, you will interact with various stakeholders from the Sales and Marketing  functions to manage and report the business data. 

This internship offers both full-time and part-time (3 days per week) options for a duration of 6 months

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Track business opportunities progress: You will gather and process sales data and use various tools and applications to organize this information into easy-to-understand charts and reports. 

• Refresh data in our key performance reports: You will take information from our customer relationship tool (Salesforce.com) & Digital marketing data (Google Analytics, Social Media Analytics, etc), process the data, and update reports that our managers use to track progress and make decisions

• Track how well our teams are using the CRM system (salesforce): You will gather data and derive insights on how our employees are adopting CRM as their main tool and how they use it to update reports and presentations

• Create performance summaries for each country: You will help create slides that summarize how our business is doing in different countries, with a focus on digital customer experience

• Help conduct a customer survey: Every three months, you will help organize a survey to obtain feedback from our customers. This includes gathering customer information, sorting it by country, and keeping track of how many people have responded to the survey.

• Engage with various stakeholders: You will be a part of our eCommerce portal design team where you will need to interview multiple stakeholders, gather the voice of customers, compile those insights and transform them into an optimal design for our eCommerce portal.

a)    Monitor Data Quality Dashboards for Customers

• Monitor data quality dashboards for customers and the immediate implementation of corrective actions within the operations, including:

• Training/retraining

• Formalizing/clarifying SOP content

• Identifying and implementing solutions to facilitate the capture of customer

• Ensure customer referential data is well maintained.

• Ensure all necessary Data Created are error free and accurate.

b)    Escalate to Management

• Handle escalations to management (country or local) for reasons of failure of customer KPI performance e.g. SOP non-compliant with local context, HR – management issues, system limitation, external factor etc.

c)    Conduct Gap Analysis

• Conduct gap analysis on standard operation process and specified customer operation process for fine tuning

d)     Follow Customer’s SOP

• Integration of customer SOP requirements and implementation of requests with International Freight Forwarding Operators (IFFO) and monitoring of data performance (accuracy/completeness/timeliness)

e)    Others

• Carrying out any other request made by their manager.

• Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree/ Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related field.
